Ahoy Mate!

Yesterday, Sophie and I were on the bay beach. We found a bottle with a message in it floating in the water. There was also a one dollar bill inside! Sophie wanted to know if it came from pirates. I told here that we could read the note when we got home from the beach.

When we opened the message we saw that it was sent out to sea on May 25 (which is Sophie's birthday) 2009! It came from Normandy Beach, which is a few towns over. Two girls by the names of Kaitlyn and Claire sent it. Claire (13) and Kaitlyn (23) left left their email address and asked the the finder contact them. We emailed them with a note and a picture of Sophie opening their note. They wrote back and sent a picture of themselves. They were so happy Sophie found it and that we wrote to them.

The fun did not stop there. Sophie and I thought it would be cool to send the bottle back out to sea with a message from us and another one dollar bill. This morning we went out to the dock on the bay of Lavallette and tossed out the bottle. Now we wait to see if some one contacts us! Fun stuff. Fourth with the Family

We left Lavallette and headed south to Ventor to celebrate the 4th with our family. We grabbed some subs as soon as we got there and headed to Aunt Cookie's beach. We played on the beach all day with our cousins. We boogie boarded, made drippy castles, dug big holes, and did other cool beach stuff! It was so much fun. Then it was back to Richards Ave. to BBQ! With enough food for about 40 people we ate and ate. At 8:15 we loaded up and headed to the beach to watch the Margate fire works. Aunt Cookie bought glow necklaces and braclets. They were a huge hit!The kids had more fun playing then watching the fire works : ). It was a late night for the DeCoite family. We did not get on the road to lavallette untill 10:15! Fun Day!!! Beach Day!

Today the Marinello family came to visit us at our new beach house! We did not waste any time when they arrived we gave them the quick tour then we were off to the beach. There were a few showers, but lots of sun and FUN!

After the beach we had a little BBQ and then we took a walk to show them the bay beach and play on the playground. Then we ate some dessert and the Marinello's headed north : (.

Our friends, the Garris family, rented a home on the bay in Toms River for the week. We met up with them and the Divizio family there to spend a day at the bay. The kids had rides on the Garris's jet ski and we all went tubing. We went crabbing off of the docks with chicken legs and string. It was a great day for crabbing. Mike made his last catch with 3 crabs on one line!! In total we had about 2 dozen crabs. Sophie and Jenna were the crab eating champions.

SOLD!

Today, Gina our Realtor that sold us our beach house, came by to take a picture of our family in front of our house with a sold sign. She does this for all of her sales and posts them in her office. I think it is a cute idea. I am posting it for you to see : ). Here are a few more pics if you want to check them out.

We are having a great time settling into our new home. It is a rainy day today :(. Mike is going to take Mikey and Sophie to a movie this afternoon.

Last night Sophie and I went to the Lavallette library. It was a special night in which beginning readers could read to therapy dogs. At first she was very nervous, but she was very brave and read to three different dogs. I am proud of her! To bad I forgot my camera : (

Sophie Graduated!!

Yesterday Sophie graduated from Kindergarten! I was so proud of her. She looked beautiful in her new dress! After graduation Sophie and I had a girls lunch at The Cheesecake Factory. Yummo! Now it is onto first grade- I cannot believe how fast she is growing up! Pictures are up here check them out!
